    At the end of March, I took part in an activity, Montessori Model United Nations, which is really impressive for me.

    The conference was held in New York City and teenagers around the world come every year to make the world better. For me, it’s a chance to make friends and to show your creativity and personality.

    I met quite a lot of elite students. They were creative and eager to come up with better resolutions to tackle global issues. They were very friendly as well. After the 11-day trip, we became good friends. Some of us even exchanged social network information, so that we can hang out and play together after the trip.

    During the meeting, we were divided into three countries and several commissions. Each group has two members. I represented Uganda in the CSD (Commission on Sustainable Development) conference. There were about 100 students in each conference. Although most of them were native English speakers, my partner and I weren’t afraid to speak. We stated our opinion on how to solve the environmental problems. The others were amazed by our imaginative ideas and they included them in the draft resolution! We were very proud to share our thoughts with them.

    To sum up, this experience is a great chance for students to learn to communicate, collaborate and cooperate. And I believe that we can make a change!
