    This is an unforgettable memory that I’ll definitely cherish for my lifetime. In the first place, I should say that during this MMUN Conference, not only did I understand the complicated process of addressing such an political issue as grand as Nuclear Non-Proliferation, but also experienced the exotic culture of different countries. I have gained knowledge as well as the importance of well-learning a foreign language as a tool for cross-cultural communications.

    As for the procedures of meeting, the participants from previous years of the MMUN have talked quite enough, so I will just focus on how exactly I felt about this trip to the UN.

    First of all, through a few times of Training and Presentation I participated prior to the trip, I had gone through a total different way of learning. The delegate that I represented is The Republic of The Fiji Islands and we were on the United Nations General Assembly 1st Committee -Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC). I had to go online and search out very single detail about the country of Fiji, the UN, the responsibilities & duties of DISEC and the Topic. Therefore I had to take the initiative to learn.

    While attending the Conference in the UN Headquarters in New York, I was aware of the differences of culture, environment, way of thinking and behavior between various countries as well as its impact according upon the overall development of a student. The hospitality & friendship of the kids from the U.S., European countries and many others worldwide, also the practices of the session in the UN was quite impressive. In addition, I have learned that no matter how good you are at English, you have to be brave & proper enough to talk in front of others and express your own opinions. Sometimes it was OK to disagree, but you needed to respect, listen and learn others’ ideas.

    This trip has made me a great progress in terms of learning English, and what is more important is that I have made many friends along the way, so it was very rewarding and fun. The discussion we had upon the issue of Nuclear Non-Proliferation & Disarmament totally changed my outlook upon learning. Learning is not just about reciting facts or equations, it is more about finding smart, peaceful and efficient ways to solve realistic problems in life.

    This is the most unforgettable and impressive trip I have ever had. Or should I be more accurate to put it this way: It is not a trip, but a turning point of a brand new journey to just learn and experience!
